Year 6 residential to Bowles – Day 1

By 10 January 2024No Comments

After a very smooth coach journey, 48 Year 6 children arrived at Bowles at 10.50am. First up they were assigned their rooms and had to make their beds – an under-practised skill for many!
Then they settled into the dining room for a scrumptious jacket potato lunch.
Following this, they had a quick play before attending their first activities: Team A were skiing; Team Beast from the South-East were on the team ropes and high ropes; Team Cool Cucumber completed the team challenges and took part in pool kayaking and finally Team D were on the rocks climbing. Each and every child showed great teamwork, resilience, perseverance, courage and should be as proud as a lion.
Because they had worked up an appetite, they headed back to the dining room for a sausage and chip dinner – yum!
With no time to spare, they layered up their clothes, put on their hats and gloves and headed to the campfire to enjoy the campfire songs and sā€™mores!

All in all a jam-packed, fun-filled, exciting day and they cannot wait to get out for more activities tomorrow! Now just the task of getting them all to sleep!
