Year 6 Dangerous Curriculum – Water Fight

It was 9:30 on Wednesday 7th June and the rivalry, that had been going for years, between Sycamore and Maple would soon be concluded. Today was World War Three!

Before the mighty battle began, all of the warriors filled up their weapons, lined up on opposite sides of the playground and waited for the battle call.

ā€œ3,2,1, GO!ā€ We charged at each other, laughs and water rippled through the air. Most of us aimed for our friends but some children chased after Mrs Jones. I saw when one person poured a whole litre of water over her head, drenching her. Luckily, she protected herself with a powerful water gun (even though it was stolen by Harry at one point).

After what felt like two seconds, most of our water guns had run out so a long queue formed at the hose; we were already drenched from head-to-toe. Lots of children began to start hiding behind a board, like it was a shield, to try and protect themselves from being targeted anymore. I thought they were a bunch of scaredy cats; I was loving it (even if all of my clothes were sticking to me and I was freezing).

Later, after all the fun was spent, Mrs Boughton called us all in. I guess itā€™s true what they say: time flies when youā€™re having fun! The hose was turned off and the buckets emptied. The battle had ended ā€“ or had it?

Jason ā€“ who had been to the doctors ā€“ arrived and because Mrs Boughton is nice, she stated that he could pick five people to go out with and do a mini water fight. Sadly, I wasnā€™t one of them so I had to quickly grab my things and get changed. People were charging past each other, pushing and shoving to get into the cubicles. I found an empty one and rushed to get changed (as people were banging and telling us all to hurry up). The morning was complete; I had the most enjoyable experience.
