Year 6 Dangerous Curriculum – Camp Fire

By 12 June 2023No Comments

As part of their Dangerous Curriculum learning, Year 6 took part in an exciting camp fire experience. They listened carefully to the sounds, took in all the sights and smells and used this to create some outstanding poems.

Here is a poem written by Iylah M

I have the power!

I grow in fury,

Waiting for the perfect time to snap,

To scream in rage as loud as a lion.

Thick twigs lie under me,

Getting burnt to death.

Who knew someone as small as me could cause such a scene.

Crack! Sizzle! Pop!

I wait impatiently; for you to come closer,

Boom!

I burst in anger,

While growing higher.

Listening to you shout in joy,

It makes me want to rage more.

My flames rise in power,

Ripples of heat sting your eyes.

As you lean over me,

I crackle – sending smoke into your face,

Did it hurt? I hope it did!

I love getting my revenge,

Never mess with me.

I hope you now see –

I am more deadly than I seem!

Also, they toasted marshmallows and used these to make delicious smores. Yum!
