Year 4 visit Leeds Castle

By 25 January 2024No Comments

Year 4 had an amazing day at Leeds Castle as they took a step back into the year 1875. Incredibly, the children adapted to life in a Victorian classroom fantastically.

After their morning lessons in learning some very important rules, handwriting and times table facts, they were treated to a grand tour of the castle by their very strict – yet informative – Victorian teachers (who saw to it that they walked in straight lines and in complete silence at all times). The children were able to explore parts of the castle that are not open to the public, like the cellars used by the servants. What a fantastic opportunity!

It was very insightful to see the children being so receptive to a whole new behaviour of learning. They displayed all the schoolā€™s core values; they listened attentively and asked some very interesting questions. All students, staff and volunteers were Griffin Greats today.
