To end the fantastic first term at Lordswood, we held our annual Spelling Bee competition. Children, in year groups, held their own mini spelling test earlier in the week to put forward their top two spellers for each House to go through to today’s grand final. This year was exceptionally hard to choose as every child had been working incredibly hard to learn their spellings!
This afternoon, children in Years 1 to 6 came together in the hall to see which House would be victorious. The Learning Ministry did a fabulous job of supporting the candidates and ensuring that the afternoon ran smoothly – well done all!
After a close competition, Arethusa were the winners with Victory a close second, Havengore came third and Valiant 4th. Excellent work – you should all walk tall like a lion.
As is tradition, everyone came to school wearing yellow and black or as little bees and we held our very own cake sale. This year we raised approximately Ā£300 for wellbeing resources for the children. Thank you for all your support!
