KS2 Christmas Carol Service

By 14 December 2023December 18th, 2023No Comments

This week we had our two traditional carol services that have become a proud tradition here at Lordswood. The hall, decorated beautifully with Christmas trees and decorative hoops alike, was filled to capacity with supportive parents and relatives, all keen to glimpse their child singing away.

The children sang their hearts out throughout: a mixture a traditional carols – ‘Away in a Manger’, to the more contemporary style – ‘Calypso Carol’ and ‘Starry Night’. Their singing was amazing; I think you would struggle to find another school where singing is better!

Year 3 created a Nativity tableau as the carol service progressed and readings of the Christmas Story were presented beautifully by Year 6 children.

Each phase took part with the singing of a Christmas song: words, actions and notes had been clearly learnt and the children performed with a professional eagerness.

Major Ian Payne from Chatham Salvation Army was present at both services and shared with the children a reminder of the wrappings and trappings of Christmas, yet at the heart of it all is the celebration of the birth of Jesus.

We wish all our wonderful Lordswood families a happy and blessed Christmas!
