House Hockey Competition

By 17 October 2023October 22nd, 2023No Comments

Our annual House Hockey competition took place today in the hall. Our 4 houses (Arethusa, Havengore, Valiant and Victory) battled it out to see who would be this year’s House Hockey champions.

We started the day with Years 5 and 6 who had a fantastic battle with each house winning a game, however our finalists were Arethusa and Victory. Although Victory were victorious in the group stage, in the final the roles were reversed and Arethusa picked up a comfortable win to get the first set of maximum points.
Afterwards were Years 1 and 2. These superstars battled brilliantly against each other with Havengore winning every game within the group stage to ease into the final where they would be joined by Valiant. The final however threw up a huge surprise as Valiant managed to beat Havengore in a thrilling game, battling back from 4-0 down to make it 4-4 before Mrs Taylor-Ray took glory in the sudden death decider! These results meant all 4 houses were tied after the morning session.
Finally we had Years 3 and 4 in the afternoon and these were our closest games of the day. However our two finalists were Arethusa and Havengore. The final began as another very close game until Arethusa gained momentum and managed a 5-2 win, picking up maximum points.
Therefore, this meant that ARETHUSA house are the 2023 House Hockey Champions, with Havengore in 2nd place, Victory in 3rd and Valiant in 4th place.
Well done to everyone who took part!
