Founders’ Day 2024

By 1 March 2024No Comments

Today, the entire school had a fantastic celebration for Founders’ Day. It was the 9th annual celebration of the Griffin Schools Trust families. What a wonderful day we had!
As is tradition, we started the day with an assembly with invited community guests where they watched an exciting photo show that showed all the enriching activities that Lordswood have taken part in since the last celebration.  The Head Boy and Head Girl, and their deputies, also shared their recollections of the year.
After assembly, the children were digging deeper into the theme of ‘energy’ and what it means.
Parents were invited to Zumba with their child, led by Mrs Willson, on the KS2 playground – unfortunately not all of them missed the downpour! However, it was still a fun and energetic event that all enjoyed.
Finally, our day ended with a mass celebratory picnic where children were able to go to another class, enjoy their food and party. There was an air of excitement over the variety of toys they were given: spring monsters, flying birds, pull back cars and bubbles. KS2 were particularly thrilled to see Mrs Boughton’s traditional Founders’ Day conga!
We loved Founders’ Day and reflecting back on the last year and what we’ve got to look forward to over the next. Being a part of the Griffin Schools Trust is wonderful!
