Both Year 1 and Year 6 were able to take part in bread making delivered by the catering company: The Contract Dining Company.
As part of Science week, Year 1 learnt what bread was made from and how it gives them energy. They enjoyed kneading their dough and were very excited to see their cooked bread at the end of the day.
Year 6 had been designing their bread as part of their DT unit. They discussed the microorganism yeast and how this makes the bread rise. In keeping with their Harry Potter unit, they designed the bread for a Harry Potter party and even designed some packaging that it could go in. The enjoyed eating their bread and will evaluate its look (and taste) tomorrow.
All children showed fantastic Lordswood values.
