Year 6 Dangerous Curriculum Water Fight 2025

Despite the pouring rain, Year 6 pupils threw themselves—quite literally—into one of the most exhilarating mornings of the year: a high-energy water fight inspired by The Dangerous Curriculum.

Armed with water guns, bottles and buckets, the children dashed across the playground, squealing with excitement as water sprayed in every direction. The hose—on full blast—served as the refilling station, where pupils lined up, dripping and determined, ready to rejoin the action. No one escaped the deluge!

For the first time, Year 6 were challenged to write factual recounts based on a shared experience—and what an experience it was! The chaotic scenes of the water fight gave them plenty to describe, from the whoosh of water bottles to the laughter echoing across the playground. With detail, precision and a real sense of audience, the children captured the excitement of the day in writing that was both reflective and full of personality.

Not only did the children have a fantastic time, but the experience sparked creativity and enthusiasm across the class. The soggy socks and dripping hair were a small price to pay for the laughter, learning and lasting memories made.

Well done, Year 6—for embracing the storm and turning a rainy day into a writing triumph!
