What an incredible second day we have had at Bowles!
Following a delicious breakfast that gave everyone the fuel they needed, our Year 6 adventurers headed straight into a morning of high-energy activities. Team Skibbidi Utd displayed fantastic bravery as they tackled the climbing walls, while Team Baddies focused on communication and coordination during their teamwork and pool kayaking sessions. Meanwhile, Team Under the C took to the slopes to practice their skiing and Team The Lorax headed out to the impressive Harrison’s Rocks for an authentic outdoor climbing experience. It was wonderful to see so much progress being made as the children mastered new skills, overcame personal fears and showered one another with encouragement.
After working up an appetite, we returned for a lovely curry lunch before the excitement shifted to the gift shop, where many enjoyed picking out a few souvenirs. Even as the clouds gathered and the rain began to fall, the spirits of our resilient Year 6s remained completely undamped. During the afternoon rotations, the groups swapped roles; Team Skibbidi Utd moved on to teamwork and kayaking, Team Baddies took to the climbing rocks, Team Under the C braved the elements at Harrison’s Rocks and Team The Lorax hit the ski slopes. Despite the wet weather, the children continued to push themselves to their limits, overcoming every barrier and setback with a smile, proving just how amazing they truly are.
To round off such a physical day, we enjoyed a comforting macaroni cheese dinner before settling down together to enjoy a chapter of our current book. The evening is finishing on a high note as we get ready to watch Eddie the Eagle—a very fitting film for a group that has shown so much perseverance and heart throughout their time here. We are all looking forward to what tomorrow brings!
