Many Year 5 students are participating in an engaging project with Dr. Sara from the Natural History Museum focused on meteors and meteorites: asteroids – do look up. Today, they learned about the origins of these celestial bodies and the impact they have when they enter Earth’s atmosphere.
In an exciting development, our school will be contributing to the project by installing a special meteorite-cam on our roof to capture footage of meteors as they streak across the sky. This data will be transmitted to Canada for further analysis. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to search for micro-meteorites at ground level.
We are eagerly looking forward to further involvement in this project – the possibilities are truly thrilling!
