Year 4 Visit to Leeds Castle

By 19 January 2023March 13th, 2023No Comments

Year 4 visited Leeds Castle as part of our immersive learning experience of the Victorians.  The children experienced through role play what schools were like during this period. They were able to dress up as Victorian school children and participated as children in a typical Victorian classroom environment. They also found out about different job opportunities that were available to young people from poorer backgrounds and how much they earned.  The children learnt about the similarities and differences between a Victorian school and schools now.  As part of our visit, we toured the Castle and learnt about its history.  The children also discovered what life was like for the different people who worked and lived in the Castle.  We all had an excellent day; part of the lake was frozen, so it added to our excitement and discussions, especially watching the swans and other birds skidding on the lake!
