Year 3 Wildwood Visit 2026

By 25 February 2026No Comments

Year 3 had an amazing time at Wildwood today. They enjoyed seeing all the animals, in particular the wolves, and the incredible workshops that they took part in.
The wolf experience was both exciting and eye-opening, giving them a deeper understanding of how these incredible animals communicate with one another. As they observed the wolves, they learned that they use a combination of body language, facial expressions, scent marking and vocalisations like howls, growls and whines to share information. It was fascinating to discover that a single howl can help pack members locate each other over long distances, while subtle ear and tail movements can signal mood and rank within the group. The children especially enjoyed learning these amazing facts and then being able to share their new knowledge with others, explaining how communication helps wolves cooperate, protect their territory and strengthen their social bonds. The experience left them with a newfound appreciation for the intelligence and teamwork of wolves which will help them greatly with their topic this term.
