What a terrific day we have had at Lordswood: World Book Day 26.
It started with an array of excited children, dressed brightly as a book character, in cosy pj’s or even as a food article! Assembly proclaimed our Golden Ticket winners who excitedly picked their special prize. These ranged from a Film afternoon for the entire class, an abundance of sweets or even Afternoon Tea with the Head Teacher! Such fun!
Then in their classes, the children immersed themselves in a book or poem featuring ‘Food’ such as James and the Giant Peach or food poems by the amazing Michael Rosen. We all enjoyed writing using this ‘Food’ stimulus.
Lastly, we all enjoyed making some food, whether that be meringue nests with peaches or Oreo Balls!
What a day! Exhausted and happy and hopefully inspired to become a writer one day!
