A wave of extraordinary events has swept through Lordswood today as a familiar, yet utterly baffling, blue box materialised right on the school playground! Underneath the large outdoor umbrella, where students usually gather for break time, the iconic TARDIS (a time-travelling Police Box from the TV series Doctor Who) suddenly appeared.
Mr Lenton, one of our site team, reported the exact moment the impossible structure arrived. “I heard a massive bang, much louder than anything I’ve heard before,” he explained, still looking a little shaken. “When I looked out, where there was nothing but a picnic table moments before, that blue box was just… there.”
The strange occurrences didn’t stop with the TARDIS. Throughout the day, several bizarre and historical figures were spotted wandering the school grounds! A tall gentleman in a black top hat and long coat, reminiscent of an era long past, was seen near the main entrance. A ghostly figure, covered entirely in a flowing white garment and mask, drifted silently through classrooms, causing a wonderful mix of shock and excitement among the children. Another shadowy figure in a dark, hooded cloak was even seen interacting with children during lesson time! These mysterious “visitors” seemed utterly out of time, yet they moved through our school as if searching for something important.
In response, our brilliant children immediately took on the role of detectives! Armed with their notebooks and pencils, children quickly began interviewing staff and teachers about what they had seen and recording every strange detail. They scrutinised the area around the TARDIS for clues, even finding mysterious notes and objects that seemed to have been dropped by the temporal travellers.
The ultimate question remains: Why here? Why now? The most exciting theory suggests the visitors are connected to the forthcoming Griffin Literacy Festival, which is focused on exploring Lordswood’s identity and heritage. Could these time travellers have used the TARDIS to jump through history to find out how our world, our culture and our stories look? Are they trying to understand our past to inform their future? The mystery is still unfolding, but one thing is certain: life at Lordswood is never dull! We’ll be keeping a close eye on the TARDIS and the curious clues left behind.
