Today marked the final orienteering event of the season — and what a fantastic way to finish! Every child showed tremendous determination, resilience and teamwork, producing some truly incredible runs throughout the competition.
After an incredible 10-event series, Lordswood children achieved 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in both the boys’ and girls’ yellow course categories. Lordswood also successfully retained the Primary Schools Cup — a trophy the school has proudly won every year since 2015!
This remarkable achievement reflects the dedication, perseverance and enthusiasm shown by all of our runners across the season. Every child who took part played an important role in helping us retain the trophy and represent the school with pride.
Even Mr Matthews got a taste of orienteering himself, as some of the team took on the important role of showing him how to successfully navigate the course! It was wonderful to see the children confidently sharing their skills, knowledge and passion for the sport.
A huge well done to everyone involved and a special thank you to Mrs Burdett, Mr Burdett and all of the volunteers and families who give up their time to encourage and support our children throughout the year. Your commitment makes opportunities like this possible and helps our young athletes thrive.
We are incredibly proud of every single runner — what a brilliant season it has been!
