Laughter and creative chaos filled the halls as we celebrated Michael Rosen Day by immersing ourselves in the author’s world of hilarious poetry.
The highlight of the celebration was the whole school watching a free live online event with Michael Rosen himself. Children were captivated by his energetic performance of poems, particularly those following this year’s “Funny Food” theme. The children were laughing non-stop and immediately felt motivated to start writing their own poems.
Inspired by Rosen’s expressive style, many children spent their English lesson exploring the art of performance, using rhythm, rhyme and silly sound effects to bring their own work to life. The day successfully brought joy to reading and writing, reminding everyone that poetry should always be fun.
Well done to all the pupils for their wonderful participation!
