The Lordswood School playground was a hive of competitive spirit and laughter this week as children and parents teamed up for the annual Lordswood Olympics. Held on Wednesday, October 1st, and Friday, October 3rd, the event saw families challenge each other in various exciting sporting activities on the KS2 playground, all to raise money for new sports equipment.

The first day of the Olympics for Years 4, 5, and 6 on Wednesday, October 1st, was a fantastic success, with the participants enjoying lovely weather as they competed. Children and their parents tackled a range of events, including exciting challenges such as hockey dribbling, a tense penalty shoot-out, accurate archery, and the winter sport of curling. The high-energy activities fostered a brilliant atmosphere of teamwork and friendly competition.

Despite a change in the weather, the fun continued on Friday, October 3rd, for Years 1, 2, and 3. Although the day saw some rain, the events pressed on, showcasing the children’s great resilience and enthusiasm. The younger pupils were just as eager as the older students to take on the challenges, proving that a little drizzle can’t dampen the Olympic spirit!

A huge thank you goes out to all the children and parents who took part. Your commitment and positive energy made the event a resounding success. Judging by the smiles on everyone’s faces, it’s clear that lots of fun was had by all. Events like these not only help raise vital funds for the school but also strengthen the fantastic community spirit at Lordswood. We are already looking forward to next year!
