Wow… what a day we had!
The children in Early Years were treated to an amazing Beach Day filled with fun, laughter and plenty of seaside adventures. There was water play, sand play, delicious ice creams, face painting, tattoos, a fantastic Punch and Judy show, beach-themed colouring and lots and lots of wonderfully messy fun!
The day began with the children heading to Costa Del Lordswood. We made sure everyone was sun safe and talked about how to stay cool, keep hydrated and protect ourselves from the sun.
As the day went on, the team got creative with some spectacular beach-themed face painting, alongside temporary tattoos, beach toys, colouring activities and beach-themed cartoons to help everyone relax before lunch.
Then came one of the highlights of the day – the paddling pools and ice creams! The children could choose from salted caramel, chocolate, strawberry or vanilla, with Rocket ice lollies available for those with allergies. To make them even more delicious, everyone could add a generous helping of their favourite sauce on top, resulting in plenty of sticky smiles!
As the children changed, ready for the water and sand play at Costa Del Lordswood, there was an excited buzz in the air. There was lots of splashing, jumping in puddles, digging and building in the sand, imaginative beach play and children sharing stories and chatting about their favourite ice cream flavours. They were impeccably behaved throughout the day and fully embraced the beach theme.
To round off our fantastic Beach Day, everyone got changed (with only one sock mysteriously disappearing) before gathering together to enjoy a brilliant Punch and Judy show.
