Founders Day

On Friday 4th March the entire school had a fantastic celebration for Founders Day. It was the 8th annual celebration of the Griffin Schools Trust families. What a wonderful day we had!

As is tradition, we started the day with an assembly with invited community guests. A phenomenal and exciting photo show showed all the enriching activities that we have taken part in since the last celebration: trips, special days and collegiate events to name but a few. The Head Boy and Head Girl, and their deputies, also shared their recollections of the year.

Children took part in array of family themed activities throughout the day; thinking deeply about their own sense of belonging. Many topics were explored from Nursery to Year 6 about what family is, how we are all different and what this can look like.

Finally, our day ending with a mass celebratory picnic where children were able to go to another class, enjoy their food and party. There was magnificent dancing, brilliant bubble blowing, excellent singing and enjoyment spread across children and staff. Mrs Boughton even engineered a fabulous conga line in KS2!

We loved Founders Day and reflecting back on the last year and what we’ve got to look forward to over the next. Being a part of the Griffin Schools Trust is wonderful!
